Data Acquisition

For data acquisition, each user can choose his or her own computer-based digital data acquisition system (hardware and software). These systems are readily available from numerous manufacturers. All known data acquisition packages can store data in the widely used Excel-compatible ASCII (.asc) format, which is required by the NDT_CARE™ software. The real-time graphical display of data during acquisition is also possible for most systems.

Data acquisition PC cards (also known as PCMCIA cards) allow the use of notebook computers as portable and battery-operated data acquisition systems.

For example, NDT Technologies, Inc. has used and is using a system that is available from Quatech http://www.quatech.com/ This Data Acquisition System consists of a Data Acquisition PCMCIA Card, including the appropriate software.  Specifically, NDT Technologies, Inc. has experience with the DAQP-12 PCMCIA Card together with DASYLab Lite software.
